Game Bytes — Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: 13 August 2026

Game Bytes (“Game Bytes,” “we,” “us,” or “the app”) is a collection of mini-games published by SamalaiTech. This policy explains what information the app handles, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

In short: you do not need to create a Game Bytes account, most game data stays on your device, and we do not sell your personal information for money. Some optional and online features use the service providers described below.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the following information locally so that games and settings work between sessions:

  • game progress, levels, scores, saved boards, wins, streaks, challenge and live-event progress, rank and season-pass progress;
  • in-game currencies, rewards, owned cosmetics, purchase-entitlement records, and ad frequency counters;
  • your chosen in-game display name, game order, and app preferences, including theme, sound, music, haptics, and reduced-motion settings; and
  • notification preferences and locally scheduled reminder times.

This information is not uploaded to a Game Bytes account. Removing the app normally deletes locally stored data. Purchase records held by an app store or our purchase processor may remain available to validate or restore purchases.

Analytics, diagnostics, and remote configuration

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve its games. Events may include app and screen opens, game and level activity, session duration, tutorial use, challenges and rewards, broad progress buckets, ad interactions, purchase status, and settings changes. These events do not intentionally include your chosen display name, chat messages, email address, or other content you type.

We use Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and reliability problems. Crash data may include crash traces, diagnostic logs, timestamps, app version, device model, operating-system information, available device resources, and installation or session identifiers.

We also use Firebase Remote Config to retrieve app settings such as live events, maintenance notices, minimum supported versions, and feature availability. Google may receive app-instance and technical connection information when these services communicate with its systems.

Google processes this information under its Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy and security terms. Firebase data may be processed on Google’s global infrastructure. Crashlytics retains crash reports and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from live and backup systems; other Firebase data is retained according to our Firebase settings and Google’s applicable terms.

Advertising

Game Bytes uses Google AdMob to show the following kinds of ads, which support the app’s free games:

  • Rewarded video ads, which are always optional: you choose whether to watch an ad in exchange for a clearly described in-game benefit, such as a reward, hint, or second chance.
  • Banner ads: small ads shown on some menu screens (such as Rankings and Profile) and in a small number of games, in a fixed position away from the play controls.
  • Interstitial (full-screen) ads, shown occasionally and only at natural break points, such as returning to the main menu after a winning game session. They are limited to a few per day, never appear during active play, and can always be closed after a short time.

Purchasing the premium season pass removes banner and interstitial ads for that season. Rewarded ads remain available to everyone because they are optional and always provide an in-game benefit.

The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share information for advertising, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention, including:

  • IP address, which may be used to estimate a general location;
  • ad and app interactions, such as app launches, taps, and video views;
  • diagnostic and performance information; and
  • device or account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID, app-set ID, or comparable identifiers where available.

This data is encrypted in transit. Advertising identifiers can be reset or deleted using your device’s privacy or advertising settings. Depending on your region and device settings, advertising partners’ processing may be considered targeted advertising or the “sharing” of personal information under applicable law. For more detail, see Google’s Mobile Ads data disclosure and Privacy Policy.

In-app purchases

Game Bytes offers optional one-time purchases, including coin packs and a premium season pass. Payments are processed by Google Play or Apple’s App Store, as applicable. We do not receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account details.

We use Adapty to display available products, validate transactions, deliver purchased content, restore eligible purchases, detect refunds, and measure purchase performance. When the Adapty SDK is activated, it creates a pseudonymous profile for the app installation. If you are signed in to Play Games Services, we also send Adapty your Play Games player ID as the customer identifier for that profile, so a verified purchase can be credited to the right player and a refund reversed. We do not send Adapty your Game Bytes display name or your email address, and there is no Game Bytes account.

Depending on device and platform settings, Adapty may process a pseudonymous profile or installation identifier, IP address, device model, operating system, language, advertising or vendor identifiers, app launches, product and paywall interactions, and transaction information such as product ID, price, currency, purchase time, store, receipt or transaction identifier, and refund status. Adapty acts as our service provider for this processing and does not sell end-user data. See Adapty’s End-Users Privacy Policy.

When Adapty confirms a verified purchase, our own service records the resulting purchased-coin balance against your Play Games player ID in Google Firebase, and reverses that balance if the purchase is later refunded. The app signs in to Firebase anonymously in order to read it. This record holds the purchased balance and the transaction details needed to apply it; it does not hold your name, email address, or payment details.

Platform gaming services

You may use Google Play Games Services on Android or Apple Game Center on Apple platforms for global leaderboards and achievements. If you sign in—or if the platform recognizes an existing sign-in—the app may receive your platform display name and submit your total XP and unlocked achievement milestones. Your platform account and leaderboard information are handled by Google or Apple under their respective privacy policies. Game Bytes does not receive your platform password.

Local-network multiplayer and chat

Ludo and Carrom can host matches over a local Wi-Fi network, hotspot, or tethered network. When you use local multiplayer:

  • nearby devices exchange game state, seat selections, chosen player names, and, where available, match chat directly over the local network;
  • match discovery broadcasts limited hosting information on that local network; and
  • chat history is kept only for the current match and is not sent to a Game Bytes internet server.

Other players in the match can see the name and messages you choose to share. Avoid entering personal or sensitive information in player names or chat.

Online versus matches

Game Bytes includes an optional online versus mode, which we turn on and off remotely and which may not be available in the version you are running. When it is available and you choose to start or join an online match, the app signs in to Google Firebase anonymously and stores the match in our database. The match record holds the anonymous sign-in identifier for each player, the in-game display name each player has chosen, and match state and results such as seats, scores, the winner, and any rewards. Where you are signed in to Play Games Services, the record also holds your Play Games player ID so that rewards reach the right player.

The other player in a match can see the display name you choose. We do not attach your email address or any real-world identity to a match, because Game Bytes has no account. As with local multiplayer, avoid entering personal or sensitive information as your display name.

Camera

If you choose QR-code joining for a local match, the app requests camera access to scan the host’s code. QR processing occurs on the device. The app does not save or upload camera photos or video.

Notifications

After you have played and won, the app may ask for permission to send reminder notifications. If allowed, these reminders are scheduled locally using your device’s time zone and are not sent from a server.

Separately, the app receives occasional “What’s New” announcements through Firebase Cloud Messaging. Every install subscribes to one shared topic, so these announcements are broadcast to everyone alike rather than targeted at you, and we do not send Google your display name, email address, or any Game Bytes profile information in order to deliver them. Firebase assigns the installation a messaging token so that Google can route the message to your device. Announcements and local reminders share the same “News” notification channel, so muting that channel mutes both.

You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Information we do not intentionally collect

Game Bytes does not ask for or intentionally collect your email address, contacts, precise location, photos, payment-card details, or the contents of files on your device. The app does not operate its own cloud account system.

How information is shared

We share information only as needed with the service providers described in this policy, with app stores and platform gaming services when you use their features, to comply with law or protect users and the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information for money.

Children

Game Bytes is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly ask a child for direct personal identifiers. Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of advertising, chat, platform sign-in, and purchase features and should use the parental controls provided by Google Play, Apple, and the device. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Your choices and rights

  • Rewarded ads, camera access, platform gaming sign-in, local multiplayer, and purchases are optional.
  • Banner and interstitial ads can be removed by purchasing the premium season pass. Advertising personalization can be managed through your device or Google settings.
  • You can deny or revoke camera and notification permissions in device settings, and manage advertising identifiers and personalization through your device or Google settings.
  • You can clear locally stored game data by removing the app. Doing so may also remove locally earned progress, currencies, and consumable purchase records.
  • The current version does not provide an in-app switch for Firebase Analytics.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability for personal information we control. Contact us to make a request. We may need information such as a transaction or installation identifier to locate pseudonymous records, and some records may be retained where required by law or for fraud, accounting, dispute, or security purposes.

You may also manage or request deletion of information held directly by Google, Apple, or another provider through that provider’s account and privacy tools.

Security and international processing

We and our service providers use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Information sent to the providers above is encrypted in transit. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. These providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, subject to their contractual and legal transfer safeguards.
